The Dutch who allegedly planned the kidnapping of the Belgian Minister of Justice are on trial in Belgium. The Dutch judge decided on Wednesday.
The four men, aged 20, 21, 29 and 48, have so far resisted surrender to Belgium. But now they will be transferred to Belgium within ten days, Belgian media reports.
The four were arrested more than four weeks ago in The Hague and Leidschendam. They wanted to kidnap Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne.
The kidnapping was foiled just in time, according to police. At the minister’s home in Kortrijk, the four allegedly left a car with, among other things, an automatic rifle and bottles of petrol.
Quickenborne had to go into hiding and was heavily guarded for days. He says to look for the authors “in the corner of the drug mafia”.
