The police are investigating a suspected burglar who is said to be responsible for several break-ins in the south of Dresden. The 53-year-old German was arrested on December 30 after attempting a break-in on Wieckestrasse, according to a statement from the police.
The criminal police were able to assign further break-ins to the accused. There have been a number of break-ins in single-family homes for months. The suspect is charged with at least five of these acts. Among other things, he is said to have stolen two laptops and a smartphone from a family home on Tannenweg at the beginning of December. In mid-December, the 53-year-old is said to have tried to break into three single-family houses in Dresden-Meusslitz.
The criminalists are currently investigating whether the man is a candidate for further acts. He is in custody at the request of the Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office.
