suspected of raping two teenage girls, five minors indicted

Five minors suspected of sexually abusing two teenage girls aged 14 and 15 in Nîmes were indicted for “gang rape” and placed in pre-trial detention.

The defendants, aged 16 and 17, allegedly abused the two young victims in cellars and an apartment in a popular district of the city of Gard between Friday and Sunday, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Nîmes Eric Maurel at a press conference. Some of them, suspected of having posted videos of sexual abuse on social networks, were also indicted for “recording and distributing child pornography images”.

Another open pimping investigation

The two victims were residing in a hostel. On Sunday evening, the oldest returned home alone, while her 14-year-old friend could not be found. “There was great concern about her for several days. She was found Wednesday in a hotel room in Nimes,” said the prosecutor.

The victim was “watched” by a teenage girl of the same age, originally from Marseille, detailed Eric Maurel who opened a second investigation for “aggravated pimping, in meetings and on minors”. She is currently in custody at the Departmental Security of Nîmes, like several other men, young adults, also from Marseille and suspected of procuring.
