Almost seven years after the revelation of the alleged facts of rape and sexual assault, the suspect will be judged by the Gard court in Nîmes, from January 30 to February 6, 2024. The case had been closed for two years, but François Bossi, now aged 64, who has always denied the accusations made against him, had filed an appeal in cassation when he was referred to court.
He will have to answer for rape and sexual assault while he taught kindergarten in Caveirac. The attacks were allegedly committed on four-year-old children during nap times.
Two years after his incarceration, he was released under judicial supervision, for medical reasons, which caused anger and incomprehension among the parents of the students, supposed victims of the former teacher.
He had worked for around twenty years in the Vaunage establishments near Nîmes before being suspended by the national education system. The alleged rapes and assaults were revealed in September 2017. François Bossi, then aged 59, was arrested on the day of the start of the school year.
The story came to light after a little girl told her mother about being touched by the teacher. He is accused of having organized sexual games during the nap time of the children, three girls and three boys.
