A 3-year-old girl received shot Friday night as her father was picking her up from a daycare center in BrooklynNew York City Police said.
The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. Riverdale Avenue in Brownsville, according to authorities. The 28-year-old father and his daughter were leaving a nursery when the shots were heard and the little girl was injured.
The uniformed officers helped bandage the girl’s shoulder gunshot wound before rushing her to the hospital. Hospital Brookdale in his squad car, New York City Police Department Chief Kenneth Corey said at a news conference later that day.
The girl was treated and stabilized at the hospital.
Surveillance video from across the street shows the moment of the shooting in Brooklyn. New York City Police officials confirmed they are searching for a suspect who opened fire outside the scene and have an image of him captured on security camera.
That man fled in a white 4-door BMW sedan driven by another person, police said Saturday. The uniformed officer posted an image of the vehicle and a description of the alleged gunman, who was wearing a black mask, a black hooded sweater with “waves” printed on the back, and black jeans. No arrests have been made yet.
