A mother and her six-week-old baby were the focus of a man who New York City Police say repeatedly threw rocks at them when they were in a Manhattan park over the weekend.
The incident occurred as the family was sitting on a bench in Jackie Robinson Park on June 5, police said. The suspect began throwing stones at them, the uniformed officer added on Friday.
One of the rocks ricocheted off the 26-year-old mother and hit the newborn in the face, causing a scratch, according to authorities.
Both victims were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Police released a surveillance image of the suspect in hopes of getting public assistance in identifying him.
