The man who was arrested on Wednesday after a shooting in Bunschoten-Spakenburg (Utrecht) is also suspected of involvement in the death of a woman. She was found lifeless on the same day in the man’s home in Nijkerk in Gelderland. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) reports this on Friday.
The suspect was arrested at his residence on Wednesday. Shortly before, the police had received a report of a shooting on Veenestraat in Bunschoten-Spakenburg, a little further on, just after 3.30 pm.
Shots were fired several times. The victim of this incident is a 59-year-old man from Bunschoten-Spakenburg. He was taken to a hospital.
A dead woman was then found in the man’s home at the Sperwerhof in Nijkerk. The woman was according The Telegraph the man’s partner.
The suspect would have first shot her and then shot the victim from Bunschoten-Spakenburg off his bicycle. This man would have been a colleague and the alleged lover of the woman, the newspaper reported. The suspect would have found out about this adultery. The OM did not want to provide any further information on Friday.
The suspect’s pre-trial detention was extended by two weeks on Friday. He is in restrictions, which means he can only have contact with his lawyer.
