NEW YORK – Authorities are looking for the suspect who poured fuel at the entrance of a building and set it on fire, putting three families in the Bronx at risk.
Security cameras captured the moment in which the suspect carries the gasoline device in his hand and performs the act in the building located at 1756 E 174th St in the Soundview area.
“Thank God the hydrants worked and they were able to stop the fire in time. Thank God the families are fine and there was no damage or loss to be regretted,” said a resident of the area.
Other security cameras captured the same suspect setting a car on fire on the same street in the region, causing several nearby vehicles to burst into flames.
“When I came I couldn’t go into the block, I didn’t know what was happening because the firemen had blocked the street and when I turned around I saw that all the cars were burned. I was shocked,” Luigi Salcedo told Telemundo 47 as his car burned.
The authorities are trying to find out where the person who committed the crime is and determine the reason for what he did.
No one was injured after the incident.
