NEW YORK – Authorities are searching for a suspect in a violent robbery attempt that left the victim, a 63-year-old man, in hospital, New York City Police announced.
According to the police report, the incident occurred on Thursday, July 29, at about 9:45 p.m., when the victim, a 63-year-old man, was walking on West 32 Street Y 7th Avenue in Manhattan. At that point, the report says, a suspect approached him and started a verbal dispute.
Minutes later, the suspect hit the victim several times in the face with a closed fist while trying to steal his belongings, but in the end he fled empty-handed to Penn Station.
The victim was transported to a hospital with injuries to his face.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s to 30s and was last seen wearing a black shirt. jeans blue and gray sneakers.
