22-year-old Jordy was killed in the stabbing incident. According to the Public Prosecution Service, there was a “very aggressive atmosphere” prior to the stabbing incident. Jordy’s sister and girlfriend were also present. In addition to the suspect, this trio would also have a share in the violence.

“We assume that the suspect wanted to defend himself against the violence,” explains the Public Prosecution Service. According to the OM, the suspect had no intention of killing Jordy. The prosecutor therefore assumes emergency defense.

Quarrel prior to stabbing incident

The stabbing incident in the center of Rosmalen took place on March 20. At the time, the suspect was not yet eighteen, so a minor. In addition to the then seventeen-year-old suspect, a sixteen-year-old girl was initially also arrested. She was later released.

After the stabbing incident, the sister and girlfriend of 22-year-old Jordy filed a report. The girlfriend of the deceased victim was heavily pregnant at the time. They would have been mistreated by the suspect prior to the stabbing incident during an argument. In addition to manslaughter, the Public Prosecution Service is also prosecuting her for those two assaults.
