Suspect of assaulting a woman he met on a dating app in Atlanta, Georgia caught in New York | Univision 34 Atlanta WUVG

ATLANTA, Georgia.- A man accused of beating a woman he met through a dating app for more than an hour was arrested in New York after a complaint from another girl who also contacted him through the app, authorities reported.

Fancher is accused of brutally beating Brittany Correri, whom he met through a dating app.

Correri said feeling overwhelmed after learning of the arrest, “I am flooded with emotions,” she said in an Instagram post.

The woman, who is a resident of the Atlanta metropolitan area, said she met Fancher through the Hinge dating app.

She said that she and Fancher were getting along while talking on the app, and allowed him to pick her up from her home for a date.

The couple went to various bars and restaurants in Atlanta the first night.

“He was a super nice guy, just super nice, we were laughing all night, just having a great time.”

At some point, the woman returned to the man’s car with him, while the man was driving, he “got mad” at her, police said.

Correri said Fancher called her the word n ​​and yelled at her for dancing with two other women at the bar, also said he wouldn’t let her get out of the car and drove for an hour before stopping in the 1100 block of Howell Mill Road.

The man grabbed Correri by the hair and started pulling her out of the car, a security guard intervened and called 911 after hearing the woman’s screams.

Atlanta police obtained warrants for Fancher’s arrest and charged him with aggravated battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

On social media, Correri posted photos of her injuries and urged her followers to be careful when dating.

On Instagram Tuesday, Correri indicated that those posts helped lead to Fancher’s arrest.

“We found it because someone recognized it from social media!”Correri wrote in a post.

A woman living in New York went to the police after recognizing Fancher in Correri’s posts.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she met Fancher on a dating app. He said Fancher told him that he had recently moved to New York from Georgia.

Later, she saw Correri’s posts after being beaten up by a man she met on a dating app.

“It appeared on my timeline”said the woman. “The second they put their picture up, I was like, ‘Oh my God. I know it'”.

The woman said that she and Fancher never dated, but remembered him saying that she had moved in with her grandparents. She said she found her grandparents’ address, AJC reported.

“So I stopped by and saw his car in the driveway. So I went directly to the police department, ”the woman said.

Fancher was arrested shortly after. “My instinct was right,” said the woman.

Fancher is being held in New York and is expected to be extradited to Georgia.
