A man crashed on the A58 near Moergestel on Sunday evening and was arrested after a police chase. The man is said to have threatened someone with a firearm in the afternoon.
After the police received the threat report, officers looked for the man. They saw him driving in a car on the Ringbaan-Zuid in Tilburg around 7 p.m. Officers gave the suspect a stop sign, according to a police spokesperson, which he ignored. He drove at high speed onto the A58 in the direction of Eindhoven.
The man lost control of the steering wheel near the Kerkeind resting place near Moergestel. There he was arrested. The man was injured in the collision and was taken to hospital.

A fake firearm was found during the investigation. The A58 in the direction of Eindhoven was closed for some time for that reason. The highway is now open again.
