NEW YORK – Authorities are on the trail of the suspect of robbing a woman after kissing her face and touching her inappropriately as the victim returned to the hotel where she was staying early Sunday morning, the uniformed officer announced.
According to the New York City Police report, the 58-year-old woman was attacked as she was walking toward her hotel on Sunday at around 3:15 a.m., in front of 5 St. James Place in Manhattan.
It was at that moment, police said, that the alleged thief approached the woman, grabbed her buttocks and kissed her face before forcing her wallet out of her purse.
The woman tried to defend herself and the suspect also pushed her to the ground, causing a wound to her forearm. The woman did not want medical attention at the scene.
Among the items stolen were approximately $ 100 and credit cards.
The investigation is ongoing by the Manhattan Special Victims Squad.
