Suspect in New York subway shooting arrested

Frank James could therefore be the man who was responsible for a strange incident on the New York subway in the Brooklyn borough yesterday. A man in a gas mask threw smoke bombs into a subway car there and fired shots.

23 people are said to have been injured; 10 of them had gunshot wounds. The subway came to a stop at the 36nd Street station and people ran in panic. The assailant was able to escape and was on the run until now. Police had put a $50,000 reward on his head.

Frank James is said to have come into view of the police through the keys to a rented van he left on the subway. A gun used in the shooting was also found there.
