A woman tried to run on a New York City street Sunday when a suspect was following her, but the suspected attacker punched her to the ground, New York City Police said.
Video released by authorities shows the attack in broad daylight in Chelsea as the 68-year-old Asian woman ran from the man who was chasing her through the intersection of 9th Avenue y West 19th Street.
Police said the unidentified suspect threw a punch to the torso that knocked the woman down. The victim suffered rib injuries and back pain.
The department released video of the assault and additional surveillance footage of the suspect in hopes of tracking his whereabouts.
The motive behind the attack and what events preceded the 9:00 a.m. attack were not immediately known.
