As CEO of LexisNexis Austria, a leading provider of intelligent legal information and specialist legal literature, Susanne Mortimore is responsible for the company’s successful expansion and digitization course. A broad product portfolio from LexisNexis forms the daily decision-making basis for thousands of Austrian lawyers, tax advisors and judges. As a driver of innovation, LexisNexis combines high-quality specialist literature from law and business with future-oriented digital solutions to give its customers a head start with faster and more relevant answers. LexisNexis has opened the door to artificial intelligence for the legal and tax consultancy industry with a novel forward-thinking search technology and ushered in a new era for the digitization of law. This was one of the initial sparks that set a real taxtech and legaltech wave rolling in Austria.
LexisNexis has received several awards for its pioneering role and pioneering achievements, for example for Lexis SmartScan, a tool that can understand legal texts and suggest solution-relevant specialist articles. Digitization Minister Margarete Schramböck honored Lexis SmartScan with the DIGITAL IMPULS AWARD (1st place), at the DBT AWARD the tool reached 2nd place.
Professional awards
Susanne Mortimore was recently awarded the Future Law COVID-19 Teamleader Award and voted Austria’s best crisis manager (education category). Susanne Mortimore said: “It was urgently necessary to lead internally, to provide security and to offer an optimal infrastructure for the home office, because with the almost daily changes in the law, the legal and tax consultancy industry was really challenged and I saw it as our responsibility to provide lawyers and tax consultants with reliable and current legal analyzes via a free info point ”.
Susanne Mortimore has more than 20 years of publishing and media experience, with her career developing within the Styria publishing group, initially at Metro Zeitschriften Verlag as Marketing & Sales Manager, then initially for many years as Publishing Director and later as CEO of SKIP & Medienservice GmbH. As general manager, she finally built up the digital division for Styria Multi Media, before she first rose to director, then to authorized signatory and currently to CEO at LexisNexis.
