A few days after her return to television, Susana Giménez is in the middle of filming her program. Last Wednesday, without going any further, she filmed a sketch with the national team players at the AFA grounds. The day before, the entertainment world was moved by the death of Selva Alemán and the silence of the host generated tension in the sector. However, this Monday, in a conversation with Socios del Espectáculo (El Trece), the diva clarified the facts and made reference to her close relationship with Arturo Puig. “For me, they are my family,” she told the press this weekend, at the Silkey Moda & Coiffure 2024 event.

“(Arturo and I) worked together for 8 years. He is like a brother to me,” said the presenter. She continued: “I couldn’t go that day because I was in the middle of recording. I was working for 12 hours,” she said about her absence from Selva’s wake and subsequent burial.

According to the blonde, all of that was not an impediment to communicate with Arturo. “I spoke to him and told him: ‘Artu, as soon as I finish, I’m going to give you a hug.’ I tried to calm him down and not make him cry. I explained to him that he is blessed to have been with the love of his life for 50 years, and he told me: ‘You’re right,’” Susana said regarding that phone call she had with the actor. “I couldn’t go because I was at the AFA,” she stressed, once again.

It is worth mentioning that the host and the actor have a friendship that dates back years, after sharing the cast in the play La mujer del año in 1983. Although there was romance in their lives, it was left in the past and their bond was strengthened. They later met again in Sugar, where they worked with Ricardo Darín and became an intimate group. Since then, they have met on sets and in recording studios, as well as on the host’s show.

In mid-2017, Arturo had the opportunity to take on the role of director in Piel de Judas. This project led him to take on a new challenge: directing the presenter. At that time, he spoke to Teleshow about their working relationship: “Before going out to rehearse, I called everyone one by one, to tell them that she was another colleague. And they kind of didn’t believe me until they started working with her. They were all delighted. Susana was just another member of the cast, in that sense she’s great.”

In another part of the report, Susana Giménez referred to Antonio Gasalla who, historically and with the character of the Grandmother, gave a touch of humor to her programs. However, due to his health problems, the participation of the leading comedian was out of the question. “I don’t see him and I miss him every day of my life. Now that I’m going to start the program, I feel like I’m missing a piece of my body, of myself,” she said.

Making clear her loyalty to Antonio and his mythical character, Susana commented: “Who can I do that with? Nobody has the talent of Gasalla, it doesn’t exist.” This led to her being asked about the imminent replacement of that role. In recent days, the name of Caro Pardíaco, played by the singer and actor Julián Kartun, resonated. The information was provided by the journalist Ángel de Brito through his social networks; but far from confirming the news, Susana was cautious.

“I don’t know if he’ll be there. Nobody told me anything. I’m still recording and I don’t know, we’ll try. Nobody can do what Antonio does, no one I know. We’ll see if anyone can make me laugh like he does. I don’t think so, but there are always new people,” he concluded.
