Susan Wojcicki, one of Google’s first employees and former head of YouTube, has died

Dennis Troper announced on Facebook the death of his wife Susan Wojcicki, the former CEO of YouTubewho died after a two-year battle with non-small cell lung cancer. The troper described Wojcicki as his best friend, a brilliant mind, and a loving mother to their five children.

“It is with deep sadness that I announce that Susan Wojcicki she left us “My beloved wife of 26 years and mother of our five children has passed away after a two year battle with non-small cell lung cancer,” wrote Dennis Troper on Facebook.

The troper stated that Wojcicki was not only “my best friend and life partner, but also a brilliant mind, a loving mother, and a dear friend to many”.

“Her influence on our family and the world was enormous. We are heartbroken but grateful for the time we were able to spend with her,” the Troper added. “Please think of our family as we go through this difficult time.”

Google CEO Sundar Pichai offered his condolences and called Wojcicki a key figure in Google’s history.

“She was an incredible person, leader and friend who had a huge impact on the world, and I am one of countless Googlers who are better for having known her. He will be greatly missed,” added Google CEO Sundar Pichai on the X show.

Susan Wojcicki led YouTube as CEO for nine years before stepping down in 2023 to focus on family, health and personal interests. The server listed CNN.
