The release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being delayed, as EA announced today. Respawn’s upcoming sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will now release on April 28 – about six weeks from the original date.

In a statement posted on social media, director Stig Asmussen spoke about the reasons for the delay, saying the team is focused on refining the final version while improving performance.

Over the past three years, the Respawn team has poured their collective heart and soul into Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and we’re proud to say that the next chapter in Cal Kestis’ story is complete. We are now fully focused on the final step: bug fixes to improve performance, stability, polish, and most importantly, player experience. In order for the team to reach Respawn’s bar of excellence, give the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we’ve added six important weeks to our release schedule – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now release worldwide on April 28th.

Respawn Entertainment CEO and Group General Manager Vince Zampella also released a statement saying that Respawn “dedicated to making games that are fun to play».

“We’re proud of the game that this team has created, and giving them extra time will ensure we deliver another great Star Wars experience to our players on April 28,” Zampella said.
