Gabriela Oberbek, or Commissioner Aleksandra Latoszek from the series “Righteous – Crime Department”, walked around with a dead pregnancy for several weeks and – as she confessed recently – no one wanted to help her. Today, the actress says that she miraculously survived her stay in the hospital in the gynecological department. “Long after that, I thought there was no God,” she says.

When a few years ago Gabriela Oberbek – a promising young actress who, after graduating from the Krakow theater school, literally went like a storm and practically never left the series – found out that she was in a blessed state, she was overjoyed. Becoming a mother was her great dream, she wanted to be prepared as best as possible for welcoming a child into the world, she only wanted one thing – to finally take her little one in her arms.
Unfortunately, fate wrote a different scenario for her.

Gabriela Oberbek: The doctors refused to help her. They advised her to “get rid of the problem”
Gabriela was shocked when the doctor in charge of her pregnancy informed her that she would not give birth to a child.
“I walked with a dead pregnancy for weeks because no one wanted to take me,” she wrote on Instagram, recalling the moment when the whole world just collapsed on her head.
Specialists to whom the actress turned for help advised her to – these are her words – to spend the fetus alone and get rid of the problem.
“I heard: “Let you install the pills yourself at home and wait, because this is the first pregnancy and it must clean itself”. I refused, “she recalls.
No doctor wanted to perform an abortion of a dead fetus. Gabriela Oberbek only went to the hospital when it was really bad.
“I ended up in the gynecology ward, had an induced labor anyway, and then I was left alone with a fever for 12 hours,” she confessed on social media.

The role of Jadzia Pastułka in “Czas honoru” will never forget the nightmare she experienced in the hospital.
A few hours after the tragedy that befell her, a priest came to her.
“He said that he would forgive me for everything, because I had carried the heaviest cross in my life. The last thing I dreamed of then was “absolution” as if I was guilty, Gabriela Oberbek recalls.
The actress does not hide that traumatic experiences and a conversation with a completely devoid of empathy hospital chaplain made her turn away from God.
“Long after that I believed that there is no God, but today I believe otherwise. I have the right to think what I want. My relationship with God is a private matter, just like each of us” – she says.

Gabriela Oberbek decided to tell her story because she was deeply touched by the recently publicized stories of other young women who were less fortunate than her and who died because they were refused abortions of dead fetuses.
“I told this extremely personal and painful story so that we can try to speak with one voice over these powerful divisions that are already doing enough harm,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I live, although I would have a lot to say what happens to the head “after all”. Many girls have not been so lucky. Happiness? Is that the right word? I don’t know. It’s worth talking about all this, however. “saving lives” should be a reality, not something we ask for on the streets,” she said.
