Of the diverse and wide range of smart devices in the computer category, residents of the Baltic States prefer laptops: 74% of Latvians have purchased this device and are actively using it every day, according to the latest Huawei Baltic consumer survey. Latvians mainly use laptops for entertainment – movies, reading news and shopping online. Meanwhile, work needs are in second place and they are relevant to only half of the respondents.
The laptop is the most popular smart device in the computer category, far surpassing desktops and tablets, according to a survey of Baltic residents conducted by the research company Rait Group on behalf of Huawei. 74% of Latvians, 84% in Lithuania and 75% in Estonia use laptops on a daily basis.
Laptops are also used at home for work
78% of the population in Latvia most often use a laptop for entertainment – reading news, shopping on the Internet, watching movies and communicating with other people are at the top of the charts. However, about half of the respondents in all three Baltic countries use a laptop directly for work at home. Relatively little is used for training – only a third of the surveyed laptops use it to take online courses or prepare study papers.
