The company said that most of the people who have felt the desire to help others during the crisis are in the youngest age group of respondents, namely, from 18 to 29 years. One in ten Latvians in the survey admitted that they are ready to devote their time, finances and knowledge to help others, even if they have to give up “extras” in their daily lives, but almost 40% are ready to help others if it does not change their own comfort. feeling and standard of living.

She pointed out that Covid-19 increased the material donations of companies.

Marianna Milovska, the head of the association “Dr. Clown”, emphasized that although the pandemic has drastically reduced the amount of financial donations, it provided greater public response and moral support. “Feeling vulnerable, people began to pay more attention to other people’s problems and offer less financial assistance than other forms of support,” she added.

The survey was conducted in July 2020 in cooperation with the research agency “Norstat”, with more than 1,000 respondents participating in the survey.
