Surveillance Performance: Subverting Control and Using Surveillance as a Tool for Communication

Surveillance Performance is an interactive augmented experience created to remind us that the system of control and surveillance can be subverted and used as a tool for mutual communication. The interactive installation offers viewers to look at different video surveillance channels and listen to the generative sound they create. OSC data generated by machine learning transforms movement on the video surveillance screen into different types of filters, creating a unique and ever-changing experience, thus changing the application of control tools, making them tools of self-expression.
