Mayor Halsema has laid out the area around the funeral home where Ajaxhooligan ‘Polletje’ is located designated as a security risk area. Martin van der Pol, better known as Polletje, was shot on the street in Zuidoost on Thursday 4 March. The decision was taken because the police have indications that dozens of hard core supporters of Ajax intend to say goodbye to him this afternoon. In addition, there are also indications that the fans want to set off heavy fireworks. That illegal fireworks would have been bought in Belgium. The funeral home is in the Eudorinastraat in Noord.

The supporters would plan to come and say goodbye between 1 and 2 pm. On social media you can read that Polletje’s funeral is on Monday afternoon at the Nieuwe Ooster in the Watergraafsmeer.
There are many police cars and vans of the Mobile Unit at the funeral home and surrounding streets. The decision went into effect at 11 am and is valid until 4 pm.
