Girls received 4 building rods that represent the transfer of power of the districts of Soyapango, Ilopango, Tonacatepeque and San Martín, which now make up the municipality of San Salvador Este.
San Salvador This will be the second largest municipality in the department of San Salvador. Its municipal council will be made up of Nuevas Ideas, which will have 5 regular councilors, the mayor and the trustee plus 2 substitute councilors.
The Democratic Change (CD) party will have 3 regular councilors and 1 substitute councilor. Within the council will be the former sports presenter Hernán Carrasco. Likewise, the Grand Alliance for National Unity party (Gana) will have 1 regular councilor and 1 substitute; and the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) managed to enter with a proprietary councilor.
This municipality has 558,171 inhabitants. The district with the largest population is Soyapango, which has 264,766 inhabitants.
Chicas said during his first intervention that he won the votes of the citizens thanks to the work he did in the municipality of Ilopango, where he was mayor until yesterday.
The new mayor will create the figure of district heads to administer the former municipalities, now districts, and announced that the priority will be garbage collection, with the support of private companies.
Recently, the new official pledged not to lay off staff in the 4 districts and said he would work with current municipal employees.
On the other hand, the Chinese government is carrying out ambitious work in Ilopango in the coming years, where it will create a water purification plant to supply clean water to greater San Salvador.
