Jakarta –
Usually design and comfort are important considerations before buying a house. However, it turns out that not all expensive houses have complete and adequate features and facilities, like this house. Surprisingly, this rundown house actually managed to sell for a fantastic price, namely IDR 6.6 billion.
According to nine.com.au, the house located at 20 Mulga Street, Thomastown, Melbourne, Australia, is in quite poor condition. Unlike most residences, this house does not have a bathroom or kitchen.
Seen from the outside, the house looks worn out with boarded walls that are shabby and look neglected. Even though it looks like a hut, who would have thought that the house would eventually be sold for a high price.
Love & Co’s selling agent, Jim Kalakias, said that the house has 4 bedrooms. He himself felt relieved after being able to sell the house at auction.

According to Kalakias, the homeowner initially wanted to renovate the house, but failed. Initially the outdated house was auctioned for around 550,000 to 605,000 Australian dollars but apparently it was sold for a higher price.
When the house reached 595,000 Australian dollars, the bidding competition began to decrease. However, the auction is still going on, and the remaining auctioneers are still trying to fight over the house.
The 650 square meter house was finally sold for 670,000 Australian dollars or around Rp. 6.6 billion. After being fiercely contested by auctioneers, the house then fell to a brother and sister couple.
According to information, the home buyer plans to develop the property. Kalakias also said that although the house looks worn out, it has a strategic location.
“This special property is very close to the train station and various other public facilities,” explained Kalakias.
