Unveiled last week, the expanded retail edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 has attracted the attention of not only potential buyers, but also resellers. The developers from Larian Studios have foreseen this.
Let us remind you that the retail version of Baldur’s Gate 3, in addition to the game on physical media (not counting PC), includes a soundtrack, a world map, a poster, patches, stickers and a set of digital bonuses – all in an exclusive box.
Larian priced the set at $80, and resellers who became active after the start of pre-orders ready to leave with your copy for $200−300. For comparison, the discless Collector’s Edition of the game cost $250.
The head of the publishing department of Larian, Michael Douse, drew attention to the situation, assuringthat the new retail edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 is not limited and no shortage of copies is expected.
According to Daus, the publication will be released in the first quarter of 2024 allows Larian to increase supplies within the first batch without jeopardizing the shipping date: “Surprisingly organized, knowing us”.
The Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is on three discs, the PlayStation version is on two, while the DVD for PC includes only a unique installer (the game itself comes as a code for Steam).
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on PC and macOS via Steam and GOG, as well as on PS5. The release on Xbox Series X and S is expected in December – the exact date will be announced at The Game Awards 2023. As part of the future ceremony, the game is competing for eight awards.
