NEW YORK – A dead man was found between two platforms under a flight of stairs in a busy Manhattan subway station early Thursday morning.
Police say the man, whose age and identity have not yet been released, had obvious stab wounds or cuts to his chest when MTA workers conducting a trackside inspection discovered him shortly after midnight in the area off the West Village station platform.
It is unclear how long the man may have been there. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner’s office will perform the autopsy to determine how and when the man died and who he was.
