An electric car enters the Top 3 for the first time in history. The new Rolls-Royces are just like the new Ladas
Neither the shortage of cars nor their drastically increased prices can stop the rise of the Bulgarian market, according to the traditional Automedia.bg report on new registrations in the Ministry of the Interior. For the first two months of 2023, 5,588 new cars (categories M1 and N1) were registered in our country, which is 18% more than last year.
The best-selling car in Europe last year does not even make the Top 50 in Bulgaria in 2023. The other surprising absences in the Top 20: Dacia Duster, Nissan Qashqai, Renault Captur. For the first time in three decades, there is not even a Ford passenger car in the top 40
The data for January and February include quite a few interesting moments, but undoubtedly the most important is that an electric car is in the Top 3 of the best-selling cars in our country for the first time.
Toyota – 686 Dacia – 678 Renault – 532 Volkswagen – 438 Skoda – 405 Kia – 337 Hyundai – 326 Ford – 194 Mercedes – 240 BMW – 224 |
On the other hand, ongoing supply problems mean that familiar names are missing from the Top 20 – eg Dacia Duster, Nissan Qashqai, Renault Captur. And the Peugeot 208, which last year was the best-selling car in Europe, is now not even in the Top 50 in Bulgaria.
Among the brands, last year’s leader Toyota is still in the lead, but with a negligible lead over Dacia. Porsche enters the Top 20 for the first time. It is also a curious fact that in 2023 the number of new Rolls-Royces registered in our country is exactly the same as the number of new Ladas registered – three cars each.
