Surprised to See Samsung Folding Phone Sales

LIVE TechnoAhead of the Galaxy Unpacked event which will be held on 10 August. Samsung revealed that nearly 10 million of its foldable phones have shipped globally.

This was revealed by Dr TM Roh, head of the company’s Mobile Experience (MX) Business, in a post on the Samsung Newsroom, citing the website GizmochinaSaturday 23 July 2022.

This figure represents an increase of 300 percent from 2020, and he also said that Samsung has been anticipating for “rapid growth” which is predicted to continue.

Folding phone Samsung’s Flip, which folds like a seashell, is chosen by nearly 70 percent of foldable phone buyers.

This is not surprising, considering that Samsung has previously admitted that the Flip 3 was more successful in getting people to switch to using Samsung compared to the previous model flagship their own.

The number of 10 million units claimed by Dr Roh is a significant increase, compared to the previous shipment figures released by IDC, where they stated that 7.1 million foldable phones will be shipped globally in 2021 which includes Flip and Fold models.
