Saturday’s brutal attack on innocent civilians in Israel has shaken the whole world.
In Norway, “Med Israel for Peace” (MIFF) is experiencing a stream of new members in the wake of the deep conflict:
– So many people are pouring in that we don’t have an overview, says the general manager of MIFF; Conrad Myrland, who took part in “The Debate” on NRK 1 on Tuesday evening.

– Several hundred new members
– How many new members?
– We are talking about several hundred, but there is so much going on with us now that we won’t have the opportunity to do a detailed count until next week, replies Myrland.
He mentions that they will have a large demonstration of support in front of the Storting on Sunday afternoon and that they expect the membership will grow further.
Before the attack on 7 October, MIFF had 11,200 members.

– Bestial enemies
– How do you explain the flow?
– We have seen this in the past too, when Israel is under attack. Now it is clear to everyone what beastly enemies Israel is dealing with, and many want to show us solidarity.
– What do you know about the new members?
– It seems to be “ordinary people”, not so many pensioners. We already have some of them, but that is gratifying. to see that the commitment to Israel passes on to new generations, replies Myrland.
