His colleague had a commitment and backed out at the last minute, and Suraj decided to complete the course. From the capital’s airport, he picked up the migrant Salif Tefik, who was returning to Kardzhali. The young man had lived in Austria for ten years. He went to his hometown to change his license with a quick order and then planned to go back to Vienna to his wife. That’s why he didn’t want her to accompany him.
The accident occurred on the main Plovdiv – Haskovo road on Monday 12 December. About 4 km after the Plovdiv exit, in the “Kemera” area, three cars were involved in the collision: a BMW with Sofia registration, a Dacia taxi with Kardzhali registration and a KIA from Plovdiv.
The 45-year-old driving the BMW was transported to hospital in serious condition.

Yesterday hundreds came to the cemetery in Kardzhali village of Gorna Postost to say goodbye to Suray Ahmed on his last journey.
“Our brother, who never refused anything to anyone, left us. He didn’t say ‘No’ even to his death,” said Ayhan Gunesh, a friend of Suraj.
Many people from nearby villages and Kardzhali came to the pilgrimage.
