Surabaya Pilgrim Bus Accident, Passengers Seize Driver’s Steering

“One of the passengers on behalf of B grabbed the steering wheel from the driver,” said Dwi, Saturday (5/3).

While trying to wrest control from the driver, B apparently swerved the bus, causing the body of the large vehicle to swerve against the barrier, shift to the opposite lane, and hit a truck.

“B swerved into the opposite lane so that it hit a Colt Diesel truck number W 9948 NZ which was traveling from Waru to Perak,” he said.

Temporary suspicion, said Dwi, said B was experiencing symptoms of depression. Currently, this case is being handled by the Surabaya Tanjung Perak Police Resort investigator.

“There is a suspicion that the perpetrator of depression is still investigating. This case is being handled by the Tanjung Perak Police Traffic Unit,” he said.

Meanwhile, as a result of this accident the driver and the truck driver died on the spot. While one bus passenger died after being treated at the hospital. Several other passengers were injured.
