Nanik Sukristina, Head of Surabaya City Health Office, said that preventive measures for HIV have been implemented. Start giving ARV drugs to HIV-positive pregnant women.
Strengthen education about transmission and prevention methods to groups of teenagers, parents and brides and grooms.
“(Then) providing reproductive health products to teenagers at junior high school level,” said Nanik, Thursday (24/10/2024).
In addition, it provides psychological support to people suffering from HIV and gives patients access to ARV drugs.
Nanik also reminded them of the importance of HIV testing before marriage to prevent transmission to partners and children.
“Medical tests for the bride and groom such as HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis (available) at all services at Surabaya City Health Center according to the home address of the bride and groom,” he explained again .
