Surabaya –
Indonesia indeed only achieved a draw when entertaining Palestine. However, the performance of the Garuda players was really praised Shin Tae-yong.
Indonesia faced Palestine in a friendly match at the Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Wednesday (14/6/2023) evening WIB. Indonesia performed quite well in the game.
Several debutants such as Rafael Struick and Ivan Jenner were praised for their slick performances. However, one drawback is still felt regarding the final settlement.
Indonesia should be able to score one or two goals, but failed because of the difficulty of completing opportunities properly. Even so, Shin was still satisfied to see it and asked the players to improve the finishing.
“In terms of performance, the players were very good today. But it’s a shame that the score should have scored two or three goals today, but that’s really unfortunate,” said Shin as quoted from detikJatim.
Regarding the debuts of Rafael Struick and Ivar Jener, Shin said he was happy and hoped they could be even better.
“Indeed, the debut, the performance of these two players is very good and they are still young. They came all the way to Indonesia, they showed and (indeed) must show in this match,” said Shin.
The captain of the Indonesian National Team, Asnami Mangkualam, said the same thing. He was grateful that Indonesia did not concede a goal even though it failed to win.
“Yes, of course tonight’s match was not what we wanted. Because at the beginning of the match we targeted 3 points. But the result was 0-0. Of course we are also grateful because we didn’t concede a goal. And we will improve in the next game,” said Asnawi.
After this, Indonesia will immediately return to Jakarta to prepare for the fight against Argentina June 19.
