The Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) will continue to install ornaments related to the 2023 U-17 World Cup as a form of readiness for the host.
Myrna Augusta Aditya Dewi, Head of the Pollution Control and Biodiversity Management Division of the Surabaya City Environmental Service (DLH), said that up to now there have been thousands of ornaments in the form of banners, banneradvertisement videotronand installed banners.
“We helped install the ornaments Local Organizing Committee (LOC) 2023 U-17 World Cup,” explained Myrna when contacted suarasurabaya.net on Tuesday (31/10/2023).
All of them are installed on main roads in the city of Surabaya, from the city center to near it venue Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT).
“The hope is (to be installed) throughout Surabaya, but it’s extensive. So we take the center, in protocols both in the east, west, south, north. “For those in remote areas, they are placed in sub-district offices, sub-district offices, health centers, government services,” explained Myrna.
Apart from that, local mascots Sulo and Bolo have also been installed at Surabaya City Hall. Meanwhile, the mascot for the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, Bacuya, has been installed in Surabaya City Square.
“The Bacuya mascot is installed LOC because there will be a side event there, promotion, trophy experience there yesterday. (The installation is placed in) the center of the crowd, that’s what is often seen. “So that people are familiar with the world cup mascot logo and colors,” he explained.
The number of ornaments distributed, he continued, could still increase ahead of the opening of the 2023 U-17 World Cup on November 10.
“What is being asked for intensively, banners, banners, banners, that is what is being asked for more,” he said.
