A citizen gathering “to support the Israeli people” is scheduled in Draguignan this Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. It follows the Hamas attacks, which occurred on Saturday October 7, 2023 on the outskirts of the Gaza Strip, in the south of Israel.
Organized by the Jewish cultural association of Dracénie and its friends (Acida), the gathering will be held at Place Simone Veil.
“The demonstration will be static, without signs or banners”confides Monique Baranes, treasurer of Acida.
She adds, full of emotion: “We want to come together for the healing of the injured, the release of the hostages and in support of Israeli democracy.”
“The more, the better”
Elected officials from Draguignan should be present during the gathering. “Richard Strambio will speak”assures Monique Baranes.
Other associations such as the Amitié Judeo-Chrétienne de France (AJCF) will be expected to take part in the Dracénoise demonstration. “The more, the better”agrees the treasurer.
“Terrorism, whether by states or groups of people, is intolerable.”, communicated for his part Gilles Hardouin, president of the AJCF. Expressing on behalf of the association “compassion for the injured and for all the families of victims and hostages”.
