Supporting the Family of a Deceased Czech Police Officer: A Call for Donations

For Pavel Kocián, being a member of the Response Unit was a dream come true. For the past eight years he served the citizens of the Czech Republic faithfully, but unfortunately he tragically passed away during his service. He succumbed to injuries he sustained through no fault of his own during an internship, left this world prematurely, leaving behind his partner Teresa with two small boys and an unborn child. We recently informed you about his unfortunate fate.

Colleagues who are not indifferent to the fate of their friend rushed to the aid of the family of the deceased policeman. “Our names are Petr J., Vašek M. and Petr P. We met Pavel during the basic vocational training at PČR in Prague and are his long-time friends and colleagues. We and other colleagues are not indifferent to the fate of his family, and we are trying to help as best we can. However, we cannot provide for Pavlo’s family in the long term, so we ask for a donation of any amount, even though we know that money cannot replace a loving father and partner,” says Petr Janda, a friend of the late policeman, says to the good ones people.

We wanted to find out more about the unfortunate accident that claimed the life of a loving father, partner, son, grandson, trusted colleague and friend. Petr Janda commented on this as follows: “I cannot provide any further information regarding the death, as, as far as I know, the entire matter is being investigated by the General Inspectorate.” What is certain is that it happened during an internship in the emergency room, where Pavel sustained an injury suffered, which subsequently cost him his life.

Alone with three children and a mortgage

For family, close friends and colleagues, the whole situation is still very fresh and no one has yet come to terms with it. “Pavel’s family is dealing with the whole situation as best they can, but they are still shaken. The children miss their father and in general they all miss him very much. “They still can’t process his departure,” says a family friend, describing the current feelings, but mentions another important aspect of the departure of the father of a large family. “There is a financial problem for the family, especially regarding the future. Of course, PČR will partially take care of Pavlov’s children, but unfortunately not their mother because they were not married,” explains Petr Janda.

And the same thing actually comes from the state. And that is why, through a collection on Donio.cz, he asks the general public to help the family, which currently does not know what will happen next. “In addition, when the little one is born, it will be a problem to take two children to kindergarten or school and also take care of the baby.” “I believe that her family will try to give them as much as possible to help, but the problem is that she will be almost alone with three children,” says a colleague, describing his concerns.

Pavlov’s family is also struggling with the mortgage and, of course, the increased energy prices. Not to mention what needs to be purchased and set up for the baby’s needs after birth. “As for plans for the future, I dare say they don’t have the strength to plan anything yet. Rather, they let time pass and wait to see what comes next,” notes Petr Janda.

Helping people from all over the country

The family of the deceased policeman managed to collect almost a million crowns. The money raised may not bring back the life of a great person, but it will help a family that has a difficult beginning. In addition, some donors are really generous, such as Jana Bendová, who donated 10,000 CZK to the bereaved and said: “I know that nothing can replace dad, but hopefully this small amount will help.” I wish you a lot of strength and as much as possible little sadness. I’m thinking of you.” Colleagues and friends of the deceased police officer also took part in the collection.

In addition to money, they also offer their condolences and words of comfort to the bereaved. Láďa R. wrote: “In our memory, Pavel, you will remain forever.” Terezka, Alex, Kristián, even those who are still in the womb, be strong. We are thinking of you.” Colleague Petr wrote: “I hope you don’t sweep it under the carpet!” Also JUDr. added his words and contribution.
