Although the creation of the film is co-financed by the State Cultural Capital Fund and supported by the LKA National Film School, additional funding is needed to complete the film, so the film’s creative team is asking for public support by donating to the crowdfunding platform GoGetFunding: https://gogetfunding.com/asa-sizeta-komedija-limuzins-kirsu-krasa/.
“The idea of the film came from hearing stories and antics about the ‘crazy nineties’ and being inspired by action comedy genre directors – Guy Ritchie (Guy Ritchie) and Edgar Wright (Edgar Wright). I’ve only lived in the nineties myself for a few months, and I’m as happy as I am sad about that. Undeniably, the nineties have their own unique charm, they are full of stories and events that are very grateful to the film format,” reveals Limousine in cherry color director, Mārcis Pauls Pārups, a third-year student of LKA audiovisual arts.
Boxer Kristaps Zutis and professional Latvian actors, whose names will be revealed later, as well as surprising and extravagant types who are not professional actors, have confirmed participation in the film as an actor in a dramatic role. Shootings, chases and ironic jokes, all this can be seen in the short film, which is planned to be completed in June 2024 and is already in the filming process.
“Human nature is often absurd. Especially in moments when the rules seem to not exist, the almost animalistic and violent nature of man is revealed,” emphasizes the film’s producer Rebeka Japiņa. The film will offer a comical view of society and organized crime, revealing paradoxes and absurd situations.
The film’s creative team consists of the director, screenwriter, editing director Mārcis Pauls Pārups, cinematographer, Kristapa the Great nominee, Arvis Belovs, producers Rebeka Japiņa and Elizabete Bethere, co-author of the script, assistant director Emīls Siliņš.
