Support Parkinson’s Research with Wildlife Calendars by Photographer Fred Bisschop

Sun Nov 19, 11:31 AM Readers News Submitted

BREUKELEN > Breukel photographer Fred Bisschop is campaigning against Parkinson’s disease. This year he had 50 calendars printed with beautiful wildlife photos. The photos were taken in various African countries, such as Namibia, Botswana and Kenya.

The proceeds will benefit the Parkinsonfonds Foundation, which supports scientific research into Parkinson’s disease.

In Parkinson’s disease, the brain cells that produce dopamine die. This leads to all kinds of problems such as trembling, balance problems, slow movements but also often dementia. The disease is progressive and there is no drug to slow or stop the disease. The increasing incidence of Parkinson’s disease appears to be related to the use of pesticides in agriculture and horticulture.

Fred’s wife suffered from this disease. Due to the continued deterioration, she ended up in a nursing home at the end of 2019. She died in January 2023 from complications of Parkinson’s.

Anyone who donates €20 or more on Fred’s campaign page can receive such a calendar. You must then leave your name and address on the promotion page and I will ensure that you receive the calendar. Donating is very easy via Ideal. You can reach my campaign page via the following link:

If you don’t want a calendar, you can also just donate.
