A wish. Thursday evening, the elected officials Chartres Ecology, Chartres on the Left and With you and Dare Chartres otherwise wanted to examine a wish about the war in Ukraine.
“Citizens want us to speak out about this war and condemn it explicitly,” said Quentin Guillemain, after having already spoken on this subject at the previous City Council meeting on February 24. A request directly rejected by the mayor, Jean-Pierre Gorges, who decided to withdraw the wish. “It has nothing to do in a municipal council,” challenged the mayor. In a press release, the elected official of Chartres ecology strongly opposes this decision, accusing the city councilor of being “in contradiction with the law” after having refused to submit this wish to a vote during this session.
