Support for the Ukraine – benefit concert in the Berlin Memorial Church

After the opening by Joachim Gauck, General Superintendent Ulrike Trautwein, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Foundation, will speak a prayer for peace in Ukraine.

The violinist Daniel Hope, the Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov and the actor Sebastian Koch will artistically organize the evening. Daniel Hope: “My thoughts and prayers are with all the people and our friends in Ukraine. The Ukrainian people, their music and their rich and diverse history are a great inspiration to me. We are sending a message of solidarity to Ukraine from my hometown of Berlin.”

The musical program includes works by the Ukrainian composers Valentin Silvestrov and Myroslaw Skoryk as well as selected pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and Frédéric Chopin. Between the pieces, the actor Sebastian Koch will recite texts.

rbb presenter Hadnet Tesfai leads through the program. An event by C. Bechstein Pianoforte AG in cooperation with the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Foundation. The rbb broadcasts a peace concert with Daniel Hope from the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church live on radio and television.
