While energy prices are soaring on the market, aid has been put in place by the State to support economic players. In this article, we will take a detailed look at the various support measures put in place for the end of 2022 and for 2023.
The Tariff Shield: support for companies with 10 employees or less
The Tariff Shield makes it possible to limit the increase in the price of gas to 15% and the price of electricity to 15%. Companies with less than 10 employees whose annual turnover does not exceed 2 million euros and whose electricity meter power is less than 36kVA are eligible. To benefit from it, you have to get closer to your energy supplier.
Electricity shock absorber: aid limited to 500 euros/MWh
Companies with less than 250 employees, whose electricity meter power is greater than 36kVA and not eligible for the tariff shield can benefit from the electricity shock absorber. Aid limited to 500 euros/MWh is then granted. To benefit from it, you must complete an eligibility certificate that can be downloaded from the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and send it to your electricity supplier.
Help desk for paying electricity and gas bills
Energy expenditure must represent 3% of 2021 turnover after taking into account the shock absorber to be eligible for the assistance window for the payment of electricity and gas bills. To benefit from it, you must make a request on the impots.gouv.fr website.
TICFE and ARENH: reduction in taxation on electricity
The TICFE (Intervention Tariff on the Course of Electricity) and the ARENH (Authorization for Connection to Electricity and High Pressure Gas) allow a reduction in taxation on electricity and the fixed price of 42 euros per MWh. To benefit from it, you have to get closer to your energy supplier.
Postponement of the payment of taxes and social contributions
On request, and on an ad hoc basis, it is possible to request the deferral of the payment of taxes and social security contributions from the State services concerned.
Reinforcement of personalized support
Companies in difficulty can request the support of a departmental crisis exit adviser, linked to the prefecture.
Termination, free of charge, of bakers’ energy contracts
Bakers whose energy contract prices have increased to an extent that jeopardizes the survival of their business can terminate these contracts free of charge.
Spreading of energy bills
Utilities will offer payment facilities to bakers and VSEs/SMEs so that they can spread their bills related to the first months of the year over several months.
Even with aid, the financial pressure due to energy is enormous on companies
Despite the implementation of these various aids, the financial pressure due to energy remains immense on companies. Entrepreneurs will therefore face unprecedented challenges in how to run their businesses for years to come. It is therefore important to find out about the various aids available in order to maximize support and limit energy-related costs.
