If you, your children or another family member have a disability, New York City offers aid and services through its Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

There are also supports available for caregivers of people with disabilities, self-direction, and how to prevent or manage a crisis.

These are the aids that New York City offers to people with disabilities

Employment: There are several job services that can help you meet your needs.

Day services: It works to make you a more independent person and be an active member of your community. OPWDD offers personal, social and vocational support.

Accommodation: It consists of support so that you can live in your family’s home, or in another house, alone or with someone, so that you are as independent as possible.
