Position Summary
Metro Richelieu inc. is recruiting for one of its subsidiaries: La Cuisine centrale Prêt-à-manger Inc. which is located in Laval.
Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the incumbent ensures the quality management of products (from raw material to finished products) through regular checks, controls and analyzes. It also ensures that regulatory requirements are maintained and updated: prerequisite programs, HACCP programs, CFIA. In addition, he manages internal audits, resolves production issues and works with operations staff to avoid deviations from established procedures and standards. Finally, he supervises the control and quality assurance technician.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Food safety / Quality control / Quality assurance
– Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (BPH) and hygiene in the factory.
– Ensure compliance with the Quality standards established by the company.
– Organize and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams (2).
– Carry out monitoring and verifications related to the HACCP program.
– Ensure that the Quality personnel comply with the standards, procedures and regulations in occupational health and safety.
– Ensure the follow-up of non-conformities / complaints (corrective measures, causes of deviations, preventive measures).
– Responsible for monitoring corrective measures.
– Follow up on products placed in quarantine (detention).
– Make sure that the monthly checks listed in the HACCP verification plan are completed on the scheduled dates and that the investigations and follow-ups are carried out.
Production
– Provide daily support to Operations (production, maintenance, engineering, etc.).
– Participate in daily organoleptic evaluations of products or during shelf life studies.
– Develop reference documents to standardize our products.
– Update the IT quality management systems.
– Ensure that evaluations of the lifespans of existing and new products are carried out.
– Plan and give appropriate training to production employees and Quality personnel.
– Propose various improvements / modifications to improve the quality and prevent food contamination.
– Participate actively in daily production meetings.
– Assist the Production and R&D departments during factory tests and the production of new products.
Food safety / Quality control / Quality assurance
– Maintain and ensure the updating of prerequisite programs and HACCP plans.
– Manage regulatory compliance for the CFIA HACCP program.
– Perform program validations, critical points for Food Safety (CCP) and Quality (CQP).
– Write, implement and maintain procedures related to Quality systems.
– Manage internal audits.
– Prepare and actively participate in external audits.
– Achieve and maintain the objectives established in terms of Quality, Food Safety and good practices.
– Analyze the Qualities results with the aim of continuous improvement.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
– Bachelor’s degree in food science and technology, agronomy or microbiology or a combination of education and relevant experience
– 5 years in similar positions
– Knowledge of health standards (HACCP, Canada Gap etc.)
– Essential bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written)
– Arabic (spoken, an asset)
– Knowledge of the main software of the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
