The president of the Administration of Aqueducts and Sewers (ANDA), Rubén Alemán, verified the repair work in an electrical substation of the entity located in the municipality of Nejapa, in the department of San Salvador, after a strong storm.
According to ANDA, the failure was caused by heavy rains recorded on Tuesday night, which damaged the electrical system that works to supply water resources to the inhabitants of the area.
The substation received support from the Transmission Company of El Salvador (ETESAL) to carry out the recovery work, so that consumers receive the supply gradually over the course of Wednesday, since the service was suspended for a few hours.
The work carried out made it possible to restore the operation of two large systems that supply Greater San Salvador: Torogoz and the North Zone. “We are talking about 70% coverage of Greater San Salvador,” the official explained.
