Tonight the French Supercup will be played in Tel Aviv. The multiple world footballer Lionel Messi and striker Neymar are there.
For the second time in a row, the game for the French Supercup will be played in Israel. The match, in which champions Paris Saint-Germain take on cup winners FC Nantes, will take place on this Sunday evening held in Tel Aviv. 30,000 spectators will watch the game live at Bloomfield Stadium.
The two top stars in the ranks of PSG, multiple Argentinian world footballer Lionel Messi and Brazilian striker Neymar, also traveled to Israel. A small downside: Kylian Mbappé, the young star who also plays for PSG, is not in the game due to a suspension.
The Israeli-Canadian businessman Sylvan Adams is largely responsible for hosting the French Supercup in Israel, but his real sporting passion is cycling. In 2015 he founded the Israel Cycling Academy cycling team, which received the license for the UCI WorldTour for the first time in 2020 under the name “Israel Start-Up Nation” and currently contests the best cycling races in the world under the name “Israel – Premier Tech”. Sylvan Adams was also responsible for getting the 2018 Giro d’Italia started with three stages in Israel, including an individual time trial in Jerusalem.
Earlier guest appearances by Lionel Messi in Israel have been accompanied by angry protests and threats from the Palestinian side and the anti-Semitic Israel boycott movement BDS. There was no word of this at today’s game in Tel Aviv.
