Superstar returns to World Cup squad; Good news for France
French super striker Karim Benzema is expected to return to the World Cup squad. The player had to sit out the tournament due to injury just hours before the start of the World Cup in Qatar. Now the French media have spread the news of Benzema’s return to the team.
The player, who currently plays for Real Madrid, has not trained with France’s main squad due to a hamstring injury and knee pain. This year’s Ballon d’Or winner struggled to regain fitness for the World Cup.

But Benzema had no choice but to miss the World Cup as he hadn’t fully recovered from his injury. It was the player himself who informed the fans of the news that he would not be at the World Cup. Benzema’s absence was a major blow to France, who had already lost Pogba and Kante.
Benzema wrote on social media that he has never backed down from his goals in his life but now stays away from the World Cup due to the team’s future.

But reports indicate that the player is returning to the World Cup as he has recovered from his injury ahead of schedule. According to the report, Benzema will return to training this week.
According to the FIFA rules, the player can return to the squad and play in the remaining matches of the tournament. It was previously announced that Benzema would miss the World Cup, but no one has been included in the France squad to replace him.
