Supersonic Flow Captured: NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope Reveals Stunning Image of a Young Star

RAY OF HOPE – NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), which is the most advanced telescope, has succeeded in capturing the supersonic flow of a young star.

This image provides an idea of how our Sun may have looked thousands of years ago.

In this rare image, jets of matter from a young star can be seen exploding from its poles and moving into space at supersonic speeds.

These bright regions around newborn stars are known as Herbig-Haro objects.

The specific Herbig-Haro object in this image is Herbig-Haro 211 (HH 211) and is about 1,000 light years from Earth. Its current location is in the constellation Perseus.

In the description of the image, NASA stated, “If we could take a photo of our baby Sun, it would probably look something like this.”

“Seen in this @NASAWebb image is a newborn star with bursts of supersonic gas coming out of its poles. It’s only a few tens of thousands of years old here, but when it grows up, it will be like our Sun,” wrote NASA again.

Herbig-Haro occurs when “stellar winds” or jets of gas from newborn stars form shock waves that collide with surrounding gas and dust at high speeds, as explained by NASA.

This young star has been identified as a Class 0 protostar that is only a few tens of thousands of years old and has a mass of only 8 percent that of the Sun.

However, this star will likely grow into a star similar to the Sun.

This image allows the Webb telescope to map the structure of the outflow using infrared light emitted by molecules such as silicon monoxide, molecular hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

The environment around this young star can be seen in unprecedented detail in newly released images.
