As the musician told in the LTV program “Rīta Panorāma”, this is his “Supernova” debut and the decision to participate in this year’s competition was spontaneous, but at the same time true.
When asked what he wants to get from participating in the competition, Artūrs Hatti answered: “We focus more on the audience – it’s more about what we can give than what we can receive. We will give a beautiful performance. What will happen next – unknown to anyone. Let’s focus on the viewer, on the person, so that it is pleasant for him to listen to the song, so that he can feel it, so that there is simply a beautiful sight in his eyes – “Wow! That’s it!””
Artūrs Hatti (real name Artūrs Dominiks Hatulievs) is a 24-year-old young musician who has been singing since childhood, but professionally for less than three years. Two years ago, Artur started a collaboration with Reika, the two have created four songs and videos together. At the end of 2022, Artur released the single “Love Vibes”, which was written in the “Zvaigznāja” music camp. The musician’s dream is to represent Latvia in the Eurovision final. In 2023, Arthur plans to release several singles, as well as his debut album.
“Supernova” will also be managed this year by Ketija Šenberga and Lauris Reiniks. In the semi-final, the audience will have the opportunity to get to know the participants and evaluate the performance of the songs live for the first time, while in the final – to choose the winner of the competition. Both in the semi-finals and the final, the role of the audience and the jury will be equally important – the best will be determined by the overall rating of the audience’s calls and text messages and the jury’s vote. All semi-final songs can be heard together during the competition Homepage.
The semifinals of “Supernova” will take place on February 4 at 9:10 p.m. on LTV1 and REplay.lv.
The winner of Latvian Television’s “Supernova” competition of authors and song performers will get the opportunity to represent Latvia at the 67th international Eurovision Song Contest in Great Britain in May. On May 14, 2022, the representatives of Ukraine “Kalush Orchestra” won the Eurovision final with the song “Стефания”, however, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) decided to entrust the organization of the 2023 contest on behalf of Ukraine to Great Britain.
